What to do if you have losses in a shipment:
The best way to avoid trouble with claiming the postal insurance is to open the box in the prescence of your postal worker and verify that the birds are in good condition. (If you have requested wild birds such as juvenile mallards, wood ducks, mandarins, etc., be careful as they can jump or fly out.) Should you have any losses, it is needful to get their signature as to how many losses there were. You will need to notify us immediately, fill out PS form 1000, and once filled out, you will need to send (via mail or fax) the first page to us, not them. We will take care of it for you, and reimbursement is usually complete in about 2 weeks. You can print the form 1000 below:
