White Hybrid Meat / Broiler Silkie
Silkies are one of the most popular bantams due to their unique plumage and their extremely easygoing, friendly, and docile nature. Excellent setters, they will normally hatch most any type of eggs you put under them. They make excellent broodies and mothers of any type of chicks, often being the easiest type to "graft" foster chicks onto. The silkies we sell have five toes, walnut combs, mulberry colored face and wattles, blue ear lobes, and black skin. About two pounds.
We also carry the Hybrid meat silkie that is crossed with other standard birds to produce a huge broiler silkie that is mainly as big as a standard chicken. Especially meant for our Asian customers who prefer black meat. About half of them have straight combs, not recommended for breeding stock.
