Guineas are becoming very popular due to their hardiness, tick consumption (reducing the occurrence of lyme's disease), and their willingness to eat snakes they come across. They are a better choice for garden pest control than chickens, as they do not scratch up the soil and are easier on the young plants. French Guineas are the commercial meat and egg birds that are bred for top production and size: they will need to be artificially inseminated for fertility. The rest of the varieties will set and brood their keets fairly well, and will fly from predators. Many of the colors that we sell are extremely rare.
