Delawares are a rare breed that originated in the US. They are known for their cold hardiness, good foraging availability, and good egg production of brown eggs. Plumage is white with black in the hackles and tail, similar to the columbian pattern with a straight comb. This breed was the original meat variety before the advent of today's commercial broiler. They weigh from 6-8 pounds.

We are sold out of the Delaware until fall 2009, and will ship them from February through Fall. We usually sell out of them before Fall, it is a good idea to order before spring for this breed.
