Barnevelders are an extremely rare breed that originated in Holland. They are known for producing dark brown eggs, similar to the Marans. A lighter bird, they weigh from 5-6 pounds. The hens are fairly good layers, and should set.

We are sold out of the Barnevelder until spring 2010, and will ship them in February, March, and April. we usually sell out of them before February, it is a good idea to order before January for this breed.
